The project is located at one of Hong Kong’s most exclusive locations – Mt Austin Road on The Peak. This apartment building overlooks the Victoria Harbour and the most famous skyline in the world. With spectacular views over The Bank of China, HSBC Bank, IFC, and beyond to Kowloon, capturing these iconic buildings and scenic harbour views is the primary focus driving the planning of the internal spaces.
The Client’s brief is to renovate an existing building to provide 4 high-end duplex apartments with three bedrooms and study room within the new building envelop, offering understated luxury and design that is beyond what is normally expected from similar developments on The Peak.
The curtain wall is designed with huge windows allowing for good sun penetration and capturing the views of Victoria Harbour from the living areas and bedrooms.
The living and dining areas are within one large open space that offers flexibility in entertaining between the two. A clear distinction between the living/dining areas and the amenities areas are created by the stair that penetrates through the middle of the floor plates, and a feature wall to the kitchen forming the delineation between the two zones. Furniture layout and finishes within each room have been designed and positioned in order to be balanced and to scale the spaces.
